Zoo Nights and Lights and a Visit to the Holiday Village

Last weekend we had the opportunity to take the kids to enjoy Zoo Nights and Lights at the Gladys Porter Zoo. This year, we made sure to get our tickets ahead of time and avoid the huge lines at the gate. Although the place was packed we still had a lot of fun looking at all the lights and decorations, listening to live music, and doing crafts.

After we saw all the lights, we decided to walk across the street to Gladys Porter Park and visit the Holiday Village they have set up on the lawn. There are a lot of new structures this year and the kids seem to really enjoy looking at each one of them.

every time they see santa, they ask me if it is Sampson (as in the bible character that never cut his hair...) =P

In case you are wondering, the Holiday Village is going to stay up until January 1st and it is free to visit. For more information you can visit their website here
